Our reclaimed teak originates from dilapidated Javanese and Balinese houses that are being replaced with more modern and better equipped housing. The wooden planks and joists, which have stood for hundreds of years, are dismantled and instead of being destroyed are appropriated and crafted into fantastic fair trade furniture.
craftsmen use simple modern shapes to create a contemporary look that
has an individual and robust appearance and captures the beauty and
natural characteristics of reclaimed teak.
Occasionally, we have pieces that have been combined with old fishing boat wood. Again, no longer any good as sea going vessels they are dismantled and used for a variety of furniture.
